Internship Programme

The SC believes in providing a quality programme where our Interns gain real exposure and have immediate responsibilities, and can present on and take away solid learning and achievements at the end of their stay. Firm standards are therefore set for acceptance, and the optimal period to intern is 3 months and the minimum, 1 month. The SC Internship Programme is very popular and competition is high for available positions. Interns leave with not only invaluable work experience with Malaysia’s capital market regulator, but also a network of new friends and colleagues gained in a motivated high performing culture.

Thank you for wanting to become an SC Intern!

To apply for the programme, please write us a letter or email that:

  • introduces yourself and gives us any information that you want us to have about you, including contact details. Tell us about what you are doing right now – studying for your graduate or post-graduate degree, or planning to take a sabbatical, for instance.
  • if you are studying, lets us know which university you attend, what discipline you are in and what degree you are working towards. If you are working and doing your post-graduate work at the same time, include what skills and experience you have and what competencies you are developing. For example, are you into technical writing and doing research or analysis? Or do you prefer operations and day-to-day activities and programmes?
  • fully explains how your internship with the SC will benefit you and what makes you the right person to be an SC intern. Attach a short proposal on which aspects of the capital market interest you, what sort of internship you are looking for, in which business group and department in the SC, and how the work/topic would be relevant to your studies.

At the end of the internship, you will be able to present to your supervisor and senior managers the work you have done, the matters you have researched and written on and your direct contribution to the organisation as an SC Intern. This can then be shared with your lecturers and tutors and applied to your studies and course.

We will review all applications on a rolling basis and you will be contacted for an interview if you are shortlisted.

So please send us your cover letter, resume, transcripts and a recent passport-sized photograph (n.r.) by post or e-mail to:
