Network Engineer

Your role is:

To administer, operate and maintain SC’s Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure and datafeeds operation which includes the network equipment, communication services, Internet and datafeeds infrastructures to ensure optimum network availability and reliability

You are accountable for:

• Recommending acquisition of hardware/software and services
• Recommending architecture design for Internet, network and datafeeds based on capacity and performance planning activities
• Recommending changes to operations policies, procedures and workflow
• Recommending Internet, network and datafeeds services shutdown for security incidents, and corrective and preventive maintenance
• Recommending solutions or configuration changes for technical issues that arise during project implementation and maintenance support
• Assisting in recommending risk mitigation and security improvement in the area of WAN connections in accordance with ISO 27001

You should have:

• A strong first degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or its equivalent; Microsoft Certified Professional certification is an added advantage
• At least four (4) years’ experience in IT, preferably in data communications, and be a Cisco Certified Network/Design Professional
• A good understanding of the Internet and Data Communications and knowledge in disaster recovery planning, IT security and Internet technologies
• Strong analytical, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaborative skills
