Manager, Financial & Corporate Surveillance
Your role is:
To monitor, review and evaluate PLCs for possible corporate misconduct and non-compliance with approved accounting standards
You will be accountable for:
- Systematically gathering market intelligence through established networks and critically analysing issues
- Planning and implementing effective strategies to deal with issues and engaging third parties, where relevant, for clarification
- Reviewing and evaluating findings, making recommendations and providing value-added responses on accounting, auditing, corporate governance matters and other special projects
- Ensuring corporate misconduct and accounting irregularities are reported and to recommend suitable and effective enforcement and follow-up actions
- Managing, coaching and guiding team members
You should have:
- A strong first degree or equivalent professional qualification in accounting; a post-graduate degree will be an advantage
- At least six (6) years’ technical post-qualification experience in a public accounting firm or as a preparer of financial statements including strong understanding of the capital market
- Good knowledge and understanding of accounting standards, auditing standards, securities laws, companies laws and corporate finance
- Strong analytical, research, engagement and presentation skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
