Assistant Manager/Manager, Securities Issues

Your role is:

To review and evaluate corporate proposals relating to the issuance of securities, registration of deeds and prospectuses of unit trust schemes and carry out developmental projects identified in relation to unit trust and other collective investment schemes (CIS) for the orderly development of the capital market

You will be accountable for:

  • Evaluating complex CIS proposals for adequacy and compliance with regulatory requirements, adequacy of disclosures relating to proposals and making recommendations to Supervisor
  • Conducting research and jurisdictional study for development, operational or compliance review in addition to other CIS policy issues
  • Evaluating adequacy of disclosures in prospectus and make recommendations to Supervisor
  • Evaluating adequacy of provisions for duties of relevant parties to a fund in deeds and make recommendations to Supervisor
  • Examining compliance by industry players and recommending appropriate action where relevant
  • Preparing relevant recommendation papers for management’s consideration on evaluation of proposals, development, operational review or sanction action. Preparing relevant documentation for communicating decision to industry

You should have:

  • A strong first degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or equivalent professional qualification; and a post-graduate degree will be an advantage
  • At least four (4) years’ working experience in legal, corporate finance, banking or audit, including direct experience in corporate finance or the capital market
  • Knowledge of trends and challenges in the CIS industry, including in other jurisdictions
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage teams, lead projects and work independently with minimum supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
