Deputy General Manager & Head, Economics
Your role is:
To monitor, analyse and forecast economic developments and assess economic trends in terms of its impact on the Malaysian capital market and on regulatory and developmental policy for the purpose of making policy recommendations from an economic perspective
You will be accountable for:
- Planning, strategising and directing the management of the department’s deliverables
- Identifying, analysing and assessing critical developments and issues affecting the domestic and global economy
- Analysing the complex interactions between economic variables and the Malaysian capital market, including assessment of micro and macro aspects of securities markets, with a view to proving recommendations to SC management on regulatory and developmental policy from an economic perspective
- Undertaking econometric modeling of economic and capital market statistics to enhance the organisation’s ability to anticipate and quantify economic, market and industry developments for policy formulation purposes.
- Managing relationships with relevant international and domestic agencies such as the IMF
- Developing and maintaining an effective product range for economics
You should have:
- A strong first degree in economics, finance or related subjects; a qualification as a Chartered Financial Analyst or a post-graduate degree would be an advantage
- At least ten (10) years’ working experience, preferably in consulting or securities analysis
- Knowledge in quantitative or econometric tools and application
- Strong oral and written communication skills
