Senior Executive (Examination), Intermediary Supervision

Your role is:

To assist off site supervision on intermediaries using a risk-based approach to ensure clients’ assets protection and reduction of systemic risk.

You will be accountable for:

  • Identifying potential areas of concerned of the market intermediaries based on review of periodic reports.
  • Gathering data and conducting research on operational and supervisory practices.
  • Assisting the monitoring of the financial, capital, risk and compliance positions of market intermediaries to ensure the market intermediaries have sound financial and capital adequacy standing, adequate risk management and control systems.
  • Assisting the review and evaluation of proposals from market intermediaries or market institutions in relation to relevant rules and regulations.
  • Assisting the development of supervisory policies, procedures and associated projects, including researching and analysing industry developments and international standards.

You should have:

  • A strong first degree or a professional qualification in accounting, finance, business, econometrics or other relevant qualification.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience at regulatory authority, financial institution, accounting firm or capital market intermediary; and experience in auditing stockbroking companies and futures brokers and/or strong risk-based audit or risk management experience will be an added advantage.
  • General knowledge of the operations of the securities industry and related laws, rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills and able to think critically and work independently with serious commitment to job responsibility and quality.
  • High degree of self-motivation, result-oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
