Your role is:

  • To assist the advisor to drive the directions of domestic and regional initiatives related to the development and strengthening of the Malaysian capital market, and planning and execution of delivery of outputs
  • To play an important lead role in contributing to the design and implementation of the initiatives

You will be accountable for:

  • Assisting the Advisor in design of proposals to determine the direction of the initiatives, the required deliverables and the work plans
  • Undertaking project related research and analysis
  • Undertaking specific assignments on relevant topics under the initiatives
  • Assisting in monitoring of progress of work plans related to the initiatives
  • Coordinating and undertaking preparatory work for discussions of issues at internal meetings, review group meetings and decision making meetings
  • Participating in discussions and policy analysis related to these initiatives
  • Assisting in data work and other gathering of intelligence to support all work related to these initiatives
  • Liaising with internal and external parties on the initiatives and undertaking other secretariat functions and providing technical assistance/advice to relevant  committees and project teams

You should have:

  • A strong first degree in economics, finance, business or law
  • At least six (6) years’ working experience in capital markets or other financial sector work, preferably with experience in a policy oriented institution or in corporate planning departments of large corporations/financial institutions
  • Knowledge on strategies and policies related to financial sector development and strengthening financial system and institutional resilience
  • Good knowledge on the issues in the capital market, and some operational knowledge of the various operational aspects of capital market institutions
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work in teams and deliver outputs under strict time-frames
