Relocation of SC Share Recovery Unit and Market Supervision and Enforcement Divisions

The Securities Commission (SC) wishes to announce that with effect from Monday, 5 April 1999 its Share Recovery Unit (SRU), Market Supervision Division and Enforcement Division will be relocated from 3, Sri Semantan Satu, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur to the new SC building at 3, Persiaran Bukit Kiara, Bukit Kiara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur.

As of 5 April, the SRU will be located at the Ground Floor of the new SC building and can be contacted at telephone number: 603-654 8888 and facsimile number: 603-651 5518.

The SRU was established in December 1998 to enable investors to recover ownership of their shares which have been deposited into the Minister of Finance's securities account, due to failure to meet the mandatory requirement for the deposit of securities scrips into the Malaysian Central Depository (MCD) or the transfer existing CDS securities into the account of the beneficial owner or authorised nominees by 1 December 1998.

With the relocation of the SRU and the two divisions, all SC operations are now based at Bukit Kiara. The new telephone number for the SC is 603-654 8000.
