SC investigates FX Capital Consultant

— warns public against unlicensed investment activities

Kuala Lumpur , 9 May 2008

The Securities Commission (SC) has launched an investigation into FX Capital Consultant (M) Sdn Bhd.

FX Capital Consultant (M) Sdn Bhd is not licensed under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, thus is not authorised to deal in securities, trade in futures contracts, and provide fund management services or investment advice related to securities or futures.

The SC urges investors to be wary of investment schemes promising extraordinary high returns within short investment period.

Investors are also reminded to only invest with individuals or companies licensed by the SC. The complete list of the licensed entities is available here.

The SC continues to be on the alert to investment schemes which offer returns that are simply too good to be true. It welcomes complaints and information from the public about possible scams or illegal schemes, which may be emailed to [email protected] or via tel: 03-6204 8999/8777.
