SIDC Organises Capital Market Workshop Series on the Equities Market

The Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC), the training and education arm of the Securities Commission is organising a three-day workshop on the equities market from 12-14 March 2002 at the Securities Commission, Kuala Lumpur.

The workshop is part of the SIDC Capital Market Workshop Series which aims to provide investors with a fundamental understanding of the Malaysian capital market. Aside from general investors, the workshop would also be beneficial to candidates sitting for the Trainee Dealers' Representatives examinations.

The workshop will be facilitated by experienced speakers who will cover a broad range of topics. Among others, there will be an introduction to the regulatory structure governing the equities market as well as an overview of the various securities offences.

Participants will also be introduced to various aspects of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) such as its listing requirements, clearing and settlement systems as well as trading operations.

There will also be a session on the basics of financial statement analysis and theories of asset valuation.

A similar workshop will be organised in August 2002. The registration fee for the three-day workshop is RM400.
