This workshop is part of the SIDC Capital Market Workshop Series which focuses on the fundamental elements of the equity market in Malaysia including its regulations and products. It is designed for new entrants to the industry, candidates preparing for Modules 6 & 7 licensing examinations as well as the general public and investors.
Speakers from the SC, Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) and the industry will cover among others, an introduction to the equities market regulatory structure (including securities laws, takeovers and its legal framework as well as capital raising on the primary market), trading on the secondary market and the KLSE Business Rules (including the relationship between a stockbroking company and its clients, clearing, delivery and settlement system as well as corporate actions.)
In addition, the workshop will also discuss the basics of financial statement analysis and theories of asset valuation aimed at helping participants understand the methods of analysing securities for investment.
Day four of the workshop is optional. It is a tutorial session to assist candidates preparing for Modules 6 & 7 licensing examinations but will also benefit other participants who wish to gain a general understanding of the topics, which include stock market and securities laws, financial statement analysis and asset valuation as well as examination techniques.
Registration fee is RM500 for the full four-day workshop. Participants may also opt to attend only the
