SIDC Saturday Seminar on Insider Trading: Rules and Regulations

Kuala Lumpur, 22 August 2002

The Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC) of the Securities Commission is organising a Saturday seminar on Insider Trading: Rules and Regulations on 24 August 2002 at the Securities Commission, Kuala Lumpur.

This seminar, which will be facilitated by Ms. Wong Yoke Eng of Wong Yoke Eng & Associates will provide participants with a better understanding of insider legislations and the various offences involved. Several case studies will be discussed to highlight implications of insider trading and the elements involved.

The seminar is open to all members of the public and would be useful to directors of public listed companies, as well as general investors.

This seminar carries 10 CPE-points, which dealer’s representatives can accumulate for licence renewal. CPE refers to the SIDC’s Continuing Professional Education programme which was introduced in January 2001 to enhance professional competence of all licensed representatives and in the long run, create a culture of continuous education and improvement among them. The points collected from attending the CPE courses are a pre-requisite for dealer's representative licence renewals and will eventually cover all other categories of licences.

Registration fee for the seminar is RM180. Interested parties may contact En. Noor Hadi Ali at tel: (03)-6204 8660, fax: (03)-6201 5811 or email: [email protected] . More information on the seminar can be obtained from www.sc.com.my.
