Recognising the need to increase the level of awareness on ETF, the Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC) of the Securities Commission (SC) will be organising a seminar entitled, "
Exchange-traded Funds: Broadening Investment Opportunities in Malaysia" on 24 November 2005 at the SC in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.
The seminar will provide practical information on the principles and mechanics of ETF, and examine the processes involved in structuring the fund. It will also touch on the development and attractiveness of ETF as an investment product, as well as its benefits and associated risks.
Other interesting topics that will be discussed include the legal and regulatory framework of ETF, the listing and offering of ETF, its pricing and distribution, and the use of ETF as a risk management tool in fund management. Participants will also be able to seek clarification from speakers during the panel discussion.
This seminar is targeted at fund managers, investment advisers, unit trust brokers, stockbrokers, pension fund managers, corporate advisers, legal and tax advisers, research analysts, as well as academicians. Other market participants and members of the public are also encouraged to attend. The seminar is SIDC CPE-accredited and carries 10 CPE points.
