SIDC to Conduct Licensing Examinations in Kota Kinabalu, Kuching

Kuala Lumpur, 7 July 1999

The Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC) of the Securities Commission (SC) has scheduled licensing examinations for dealer's representatives and futures broker's representatives in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Kuching, Sarawak. These examinations will be held on 14-15 August 1999 in Kota Kinabalu and 25-26 September 1999 in Kuching.

The intention of organising these examinations in Sabah and Sarawak is to make it more convenient and economical for interested individuals residing there to sit for the examinations. The SIDC organises monthly these licensing examinations in Kuala Lumpur.

While there are no pre-requisites for members of the public to take any of the examinations, prospective candidates will have to satisfy the requirements as stipulated by the Licensing Department of the SC and the relevant Exchange, in order to obtain the necessary licence.

The SC urges interested individuals to register early for the examinations as places are limited and these will be the only examination sessions organised in Sabah and Sarawak for 1999.

For registration and further details on the examinations, please contact the Examination Centre of SIDC at tel : 03-654 8202 / 8203 or fax : 03-651 5822. For further information, please visit our Homepage at www.sc.com.my.
