The BTF is a RM5 million fund set up through contributions made by the SC, the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) and stockbroking firms. It is administered by the SIDC and caters to the training and development needs of all Bumiputera employees of stockbroking firms.
The programme for this year will start with a two-day
Workshop on Finance for Non-Financial Executives which will be held on 27 March at the SC Building. This workshop is one of many activities that have been planned for the year under the auspices of the BTF.
In aiming to provide holistic training and development for its target group, the BTF offers programmes that hone technical skills and knowledge of the securities market as well as enhance personal well-being. As such, programmes for the year are divided into three main categories: Personal Enhancement, Investment Management and Contemporary Issues.
The personal enhancement programme includes motivational and stress- management workshops. Also in the offing are programmes for the development of soft-skills such as communication skills and customer service.
In terms of investment-management related programmes, the SIDC has planned for seminars/workshops that cover, among others, the management of stock portfolios and introduction to equity derivatives and risk management.
Meanwhile, the contemporary issues programme enables participants to keep abreast of current developments relating to areas such as the Islamic capital market, e-commerce and other capital market-related issues.
Bumiputera employees of stockbroking firms who are keen to participate in or obtain further information on the BTF programme may contact the training or administration department of their respective employers.
