22 November 2019   |   Kuala Lumpur
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) wishes to respond to various news articles regarding the upcoming departure of key senior staff members, including Eugene Wong Weng Soon, Managing Director of Corporate Finance and Investments (CFI).

The SC would like to clarify that Eugene Wong had in May 2019 informed the SC that he wishes to leave the SC upon the completion of his contract in December 2019.

After ten years of service with the SC, Eugene Wong believed it was the right time for him to seek new challenges. He had given the SC eight months’ notice to ensure the completion of several major projects.

The SC would like to thank Eugene Wong for his dedication and contribution to the development of the Malaysian capital market during his tenure with the SC.
