Omega's Reimbursement Scheme successfully completed

The Reimbursement Scheme for Omega Securities Sdn Bhd ('Omega') was announced on 5 June 1998 by the Securities Commission (SC) with the purpose of mitigating losses suffered by retail clients of Omega. It has now reached its stage of completion as clients of Omega who submitted their claims to the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) have settled their positions and received their payments accordingly.

A total of 2,280 clients fell into the category of eligible clients to claim for payments amounting to RM67,813,702.93 from the Reimbursement Scheme. Out of that number, a total of 2,220 clients received payment representing an aggregate sum of RM67,739.980.62. The Reimbursement Scheme presently has an outstanding balance of RM73,722.31 comprising of claims belonging to the remaining 60 clients.

KLSE will be issuing an advertisement in due course to outline the process for the remaining 60 clients.
