SC Introduces Online Unit Trust Database

Promotes Capital Market Research

Kuala Lumpur, 25 May 2006

The Securities Commission (SC) today introduced an online unit trust database, which includes prospectuses, trust deeds, annual reports and financial statements/director’s reports of all Malaysian unit trust funds issued from 1996 to the present.

The online database will be particularly beneficial to those conducting comparative studies of unit trust funds. This initiative is led by the SC’s education and training arm, the Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC), as part of its library’s overall development initiative to identify, consolidate and provide online access to information and capital market data, which would promote investor education and support capital market research.

To access the database, the public must register to be an SIDC Library member. Individual membership is at RM50 per annum while corporate membership, allowing three nominees, is at RM500 per annum. The registration form is available here.
