Implemented by the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC), the CBE system aims to increase efficiency in the management and the operation of licensing examinations processes.
With the CBE system in place, all licensing examination modules will be offered on a weekly basis. Presently, certain modules under the current system are offered only once or twice a month.
In addition, the new computerised system would further enhance the processing of results and candidates would be able to know their results immediately upon completion of their examinations.
To assist candidates in familiarising themselves with the format of the new CBE system, the SIDC has developed a simulation programme which is available on the SIDC website at
www.sidc.com.my.
Examination candidates are encouraged to try out the CBE system simulation prior to attempting the actual computer-based examinations. The simulation consists of sample questions of all the modules and is categorised into two sections: rules & regulations and products & analysis.
For more information and to register for the examinations, please contact SIDC Corporate Services at tel: (603) 6204 8665.
The SC licensing examinations consist of 11 modules covering areas such as equity, derivatives, fund management, corporate finance and investment advisory.
The SIDC serves as a one-stop examination centre for those seeking to be licensed by the SC. The licensing examinations are designed to set a minimum standard of competency required of individuals who wish to act as intermediaries in the Malaysian capital market.
