SC warns public on unauthorised soliciting for donations
15 September 2009   |   Kuala Lumpur
The Securities Commission Malaysia today urged members of the public to be wary of unauthorised parties soliciting for donations in its name or its senior officers’ names.

It has come to our attention that there have been individuals and corporations soliciting for cash donations using the SC Chairman’s name and making calls pretending to be her, allegedly on behalf of a thalassaemia society.

We would like to state that the SC is not in any way involved, directly or indirectly, with any such individuals or corporations. We have not authorised the use of the SC or our officers’ names for such activities.

We would like to advise members of the public who have been approached by such persons and corporations to ignore such solicitations. Please contact the SC Corporate Affairs Department at 03-6204 8777 or e-mail [email protected] for clarification.
