Application and Our Selection Process

You need to fill up the online application form at https://careersatsc.seccom.com.my/career/ and upload your latest CV together with your academic transcripts and certificates onto the systems as a complete application
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified either via email or phone calls due to the bulk of inflow applications
You are required to undergo three rounds of selection process:

Face-to-face interview
Psychometrics online assessment
On-site psychometrics assessment

For successful applicants:

You will be invited to under-go a pre-employment medical check-up and be certified as fit for employment by our medical consultant
You need to furnish two referral letters to us for consideration

Professional referral letter
Personal referral letter

Offer letter will be issued upon clearance of conditions (a) and (b) respectively
You need to indicate your acceptance of offer within ten working days otherwise the offer will be deemed as void. Opportunity will then be given to other deserving candidates

Useful Interview Tips/What to Expect

Focus on your resume
Be precise and state clearly all the important dates in your CV e.g. graduation year, start date and end date of each employment, project involvements, milestone achievement, etc.
A lengthy and wordy resume is not necessarily better
Take some time to write your resume in your own language, after all it is about you and your achievements
Include your latest contact details to make sure you are reachable and contactable
Apart from your academic and career milestones, you should also highlight on all your other extra-curricular activities, projects, CSR involvements or any other achievements
During the interview, make sure you are comfortable to ease the conversation flow
Always bring along your original certificates and transcripts for us to verify your milestones and achievements

Frequently Asked Questions

Would the SC consider candidate who does not have any regulatory background?
Yes we would. We value industry experience and other relevant experience so that we could have a better understanding of the industry as well. Training and guidance will be provided to groom you as a capital market regulator.
Can I apply for more than one position at any one time?
The online application form allows you to apply three position at any one time. Should there be no position of your interest at the point of application, you may apply under ‘General’ application. Should there be a suitable vacancy that suit your background later, we would contact you for your consideration.
How long will the entire recruitment process take?
From shortlisting point to issuance of offer letter, the average turn-around time is approximately two weeks. This however will vary should there be other unforeseen circumstances e.g. repeat medical check-up required or others. This duration also exclude candidate’s resignation notice period to the current employer.
Does the SC recruit non-Malaysian?
At this juncture, the SC only recruit Malaysian. This is unless for a highly niche/specialised position where talent is scarce locally, then we would open for non-Malaysian.
Can I save my online application as draft and log-in later to complete the rest of the form?
Yes, you can save your application and log-in again later to complete the rest of the information fields required. Once you are ready, click on ‘Submit’ button to submit to us your application. Please note that you need to click on the ‘Submit’ button before your application can reach us.
Does the SC offer any contract positions?
Most of our positions are on permanent basis unless it is for a project based roles or Management roles.
