Update: Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Capital Market Participants in EMCO areas
14 July 2021

Following the issuance of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Capital Market sector during the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) by Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) dated 13 July 2021, the following capital market participants (CMPs) and their chain of critical service providers have been recognised as essential services in the currently enforced EMCO areas:
  • Securities and derivatives brokers;
  • Fund management and unit trust management companies;
  • Recognised market operators (RMOs); and
  • REIT managers and REIT property managers
These permitted activities are restricted by staff capacity at the office of up to 20%. Further, they are restricted to critical functions requiring physical presence at the premises such as fund management, IT services and certain back office operations.

CMPs are required to update the SC on any changes made to the headcount information via email [email protected] within one business day.
