InvestSmart® ‘ScamBuster Run’ Aims to Raise Awareness on Illegal Investment Schemes

Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is organising its inaugural ‘ScamBuster Run’ on 15 October 2017 in conjunction with the annual InvestSmart® Fest 2017.
The 5km fun run, which is expected to draw participation of approximately 3,000 runners, will flag off at 7:30am around the Kuala Lumpur City Centre from Jalan P. Ramlee. Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah will be gracing and participating in the run.

Registration for the ScamBuster Run is now open to all Malaysians adults at RM40 and children between the ages of 7 to 12 years at RM20 through the InvestSmart website at www.investsmartsc.my.

While the ScamBuster Run is aimed at raising awareness amongst Malaysian on illegal investment schemes, as a charity run, all proceeds will be channelled to the National Kidney Foundation.

This year’s InvestSmart® Fest, scheduled on 13-15 October 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, will bring together over 60 capital market institutions including associations, industry players and relevant government agencies under one roof. Key sponsors for the include Bursa Malaysia Berhad, AmInvestment Bank, RHB Investment Bank, Permodalan Nasional Berhad and Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia. Admission to InvestSmart® Fest is free.

Launched in 2014, InvestSmart is a comprehensive investment literacy outreach campaign under the SC’s investor empowerment initiative to promote confident and informed retail investor participation in the capital market.
