Learn about Malaysia's Islamic Capital Market at SC & KLSE Booth at OIC Expo

Kuala Lumpur, 16 October 2003

Members of the public keen to learn about the Malaysian Islamic capital market are encouraged to visit the Securities Commission (SC) and Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) booth themed "Malaysia - An International Islamic Capital Market Centre" at the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Expo.

The SC-KLSE booth is situated at Lot 149 & 151, Hall B. The OIC Expo is held at Precint 5, Putrajaya and is open daily from 10am to 6pm until Sunday, 19 October 2003.

The booth showcases significant developments of Malaysia's Islamic capital market and securities industry, including its standing in the international scene. Colourful posters have been specially prepared, providing an overview of the Malaysian capital market with emphasis on Islamic capital market products, regulatory framework and international efforts. There is also a video presentation on the progress and milestones of the Malaysian Islamic capital market.

A newly-produced information booklet "The Malaysian Islamic Capital Market: Quick Facts And Glossary", and other Islamic capital market information like the list of Syariah-approved securities and the Syariah Advisory Council Resolution Book will be distributed free at the booth.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to discuss with SC and KLSE officers on Islamic capital market matters as well as investment opportunities in the securities industry and other capital market related issues.
