SC and Bursa Malaysia Extend Consultation Period
2 March 2009   |   Kuala Lumpur
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) have extended by two weeks the public consultation period for the proposed guidelines and requirements for a unified board and new MESDAQ Market. The public and market participants now have until 15 March 2009 to submit their feedback on the consultation papers.

The SC and Bursa Malaysia published their respective consultation papers on 6 February 2009. Subsequent to that, the SC and Bursa Malaysia had briefed several industry groups on key proposals outlined in the consultation papers.

In response to numerous requests by industry participants, the SC and Bursa Malaysia decided to extend the closing date for the consultation. This is to allow sufficient time for interested parties, including overseas participants, to submit their feedback.

The respective consultation papers by the SC and Bursa Malaysia are available on SC’s website here and Bursa Malaysia’s website at www.bursamalaysia.com.
