SC Appoints Goh Ching Yin as Executive Director

Kuala Lumpur, 1 March 2007

The Securities Commission (SC) has appointed Goh Ching Yin, 49, as an Executive Director in the Chairman’s Office. The appointment took effect on 1 March 2007.

Goh replaced Dato’ Siow Kim Lun who retired in December 2006 after 13 years of service. As Executive Director in the Chairman’s Office, Goh will be responsible for, amongst others, special projects in the SC.

He was the Chief Executive Officer of Southern Investment Bank Berhad prior to joining SC. He has more than 29 years experience in various leadership and management positions in investment banking, regional business development, strategic consultancy, corporate recovery and insolvency; and auditing.

Goh was responsible for setting up the corporate finance division for BNP Paribas Group in Malaysia and was the Group’s Managing Director of Corporate Finance from May 2000 to December 2004. He has also held senior positions in RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Bhd and Renong Group Bhd between 1993 to 2000.

Goh holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
