SC Appoints Two Executive Directors

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) today announced the appointment of Kamarudin Hashim and Chin Wei Min as Executive Directors with effect from 4 April 2016.

Kamarudin Hashim who has been with the SC since 1993 has experience in various areas including derivatives, bonds, fund management, Islamic capital markets and supervision. He had previously also served as Secretary to the Commission and was seconded to Citibank Bhd where he was involved in bonds and sukuk transactions while supporting regional Islamic finance business of the bank. Prior to joining SC, he was with Bank Negara Malaysia after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Law from University of Kent, UK.

Chin Wei Min brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector particularly in the innovation and digital segment. He was formerly the Asia Pacific Managing Director for the Capital Market Industry at Accenture. Chin will lead SC’s newly set up Innovation and Digital Strategy department and also oversee the Data Management, Strategy and Risk departments. Chin, a Certified Financial Planner, holds a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering degree from University of Salford, UK.
