SC also won Employee Care & Well-being award

Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) Chairman Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi was named CEO Champion (Public Sector) at the LIFE AT WORK Awards 2025, receiving the honour from Human Resources Minister YB Steven Sim Chee Keong.
LAWA 2025, organised by Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), recognises employers and leaders who champion progressive workplace practices that promotes work-life integration, drive inclusivity and power sustainable ecosystem of holistic employee well-being.
The award celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, recognising employers in 13 categories with 33 awards.
The CEO Champion award honours exceptional leaders who drive meaningful transformation within their organisations while fostering a culture of inclusion and purpose.
Under Dato’ Faiz’s leadership, the SC has undergone purposeful transformation focused on inclusive employee well-being, performance excellence and continuous growth. Within his first year, he oversaw a few internal projects, ensuring a better and more conducive workplace for his team.
To nurture personal growth, Dato’ Faiz established the SC Toastmasters Club and expanded academic and professional pathways, including regional scholarships under the Master of Law and Finance initiative.
Beyond the SC, Dato’ Faiz continues to champion capacity building programmes for the capital market by advancing Malaysia’s role in sustainable and Islamic finance, via international collaborations such as the Young Regulators Development Programme and the Islamic Capital Market Summer School, both in collaboration with UK’s Durham University.
Dato’ Faiz said the award reflected the collective spirit of the SC’s people, their dedication, resilience, and drive to continuous commitment.
“The SC is a unique organisation with both the ability and responsibility to make a real difference. That’s why having a clear sense of purpose is vital, as it guides how we lead, serve and care for our people,” he said.
In addition to the CEO Champion award, the SC was also named winner in the Employee Care & Well-being category (Public Sector) and won first runner-up for Best Organisation (Public Sector).
The Employee Care & Well-Being award recognises the SC’s achievement in integrating holistic well-being practices into its culture through accessible benefits to all, providing flexible work arrangements and enhancements to its wellness and childcare facilities.
These initiatives have fostered a supportive and inclusive work environment and promotes work-life integration, leading to stronger engagement and improved staff retention.
