SC Organises Two Derivatives Workshops

Kuala Lumpur, 10 July 1996

Securities Industry Development Centre (SIDC) of Securities Commission (SC) will be organising two workshops, the first being "Derivatives for Directors" from 15 - 16 July; and the second, "Derivatives for Senior Managers" from 18 - 19 July, at Hyatt Regency Saujana, Petaling Jaya.

Arising from last year’s successful event, SC has once again brought in two well known workshop leaders, Professor Donald Lessard from Sloan Business School of Management, M.I.T. and Professor Nalin Kulatilaka from Boston University, USA, to conduct a high level workshop on risk management for directors, and a second workshop for senior managers. The objective of the workshop is to educate directors and senior management on how to apply the use of derivatives as risk management tools. To facilitate better discussions and focus, SIDC has arranged the workshops to suit the two groups.

The course tutors have both extensive experience in the international financial management and corporate strategy; Professor Lessard’s area of research and teaching include international competition in financial services; while Professor Nalin’s teaching responsibilities include courses in futures and options, doctoral seminars on derivative asset pricing and modern corporate finance and risk management.

Directors and senior managers interested to participate in the workshops may contact Encik Ahmad Zailan Kassim of SIDC at 2507683.
