The amount to be raised from these 12 proposals totaled RM1.43 billion, almost double the amount of RM789.24 million approved to be raised in the second quarter.
There was also steady interest in raising funds from the capital market via Initial Public Offerings (IPO). The SC received eight IPO applications in the third quarter of 2009 (compared to six in the previous quarter).
The SC maintained its strong performance standards with 99.1% of licensing applications and 94% of corporate proposals processed within the time charters. A total of 1,260 applications were received for new licences and renewal of licences in the third quarter of 2009, the highest number so far this year.

In addition to these scorecard indicators, the quarterly statistics of submissions approved by the SC for the third quarter of 2009 were also reported.
