WK Securities given two weeks to merge or be acquired

Kuala Lumpur, 2 June 1998

The Securities Commission ("SC") has directed the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange ("KLSE") to inform WK Securities Sdn Bhd ("WK Securities") that it is given two weeks to submit and effect an agreement in principle for a corporate restructuring exercise in the form of a merger or acquisition with a third party which the SC and KLSE deem fit.

WK Securities was placed under trading restrictions by KLSE on 1 April 1998 and was given until 1 June to take the necessary steps to regularise its financial position.
