Mohd Faizal bin Abdullah was appointed as a Board Member of the Audit Oversight Board (AOB) on 23 May 2026. In this capacity, he contributes to the AOB's mandate of promoting high-quality auditing and strengthening confidence in the integrity of financial reporting through effective audit oversight and governance.

He currently serves as Director of the Payment Services Supervision Department at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), where he oversees the supervision of payment service providers and supports the development of a safe, efficient, and reliable payments ecosystem in Malaysia.

Mohd Faizal has more than 20 years of experience in financial regulation, supervision, governance, and finance. Prior to his current position, he held various leadership roles within Bank Negara Malaysia, including Deputy Director of the Payment Services Oversight Department and Deputy Director of the Money Services Business Regulation Department.

He holds a Master's Degree in Corporate and International Finance from the University of Durham, United Kingdom, is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is a Chartered Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
