The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) will host the InvestSmart® Fest 2017 themed “Invest For Your Future” on 13-15 October 2017 at Hall 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre
This annual three-day InvestSmart® Fest is aimed at equipping investors with the fundamentals in making sound investment decisions, which include learning about investment opportunities and protecting oneself against investment scams. Admission to this three-day event is free of charge.

This year’s InvestSmart® Fest will showcase exhibition booths from capital market institutions, associations, industry players and relevant government agencies under one roof, and will hold a variety of talks and seminars by leading industry experts. Additionally, there will be a financial planning service desk called “finplan4u” throughout the three days, where visitors can obtain a free initial assessment.

In conjunction with the upcoming InvestSmart® Fest 2017, SC has recently launched an anti-scam video competition to create more awareness on illegal investment schemes. The public can participate by submitting a creative and unique video that delivers the message –“Scams Can be Avoided – Manage Expectation & Safeguard Your Interest”. Submission is open until 15 September 2017. Winners stand a chance to win exciting cash prizes. Full contest details can be found at the InvestSmartSC Facebook page and www.investsmartsc.my.

Launched in 2014, InvestSmart is a comprehensive investment literacy outreach campaign under the SC’s investor empowerment initiative to enable confident and informed retail investor participation in the capital market.
