Kin Khoon allowed to keep dealer's licence

Kuala Lumpur, 20 May 1998

Kin Khoon & Co Sdn Bhd ("Kin Khoon") is allowed to continue trading as a licensed dealer with effect from 21 May 1998. The decision by the Securities Commission ("SC") was reached after the company had regularised its financial position to the satisfaction of the SC and the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange ("KLSE").

The SC had issued a show cause letter to Kin Khoon on 15 April 1998, pursuant to Section 27 of the Securities Industry Act 1983, on why its stockbroking licence should not be suspended or revoked. The company had responded to the show cause letter while at the same time had taken steps to address its financial position. The SC and KLSE after evaluating the steps that Kin Khoon had taken decided that the company had fully complied to the SC's requirements and Exchange's rules.
