By leveraging on digital and social media,InvestSmartTM will provide reliable and independent information and investment tools to the public,” said Ranjit in his welcoming remarks at the launch of the campaign. The launch also saw the introduction of theInvestSmartTM website, Facebook page, starter kit and mobile application.
Through InvestSmartTM, the SC will also collaborate with various stakeholders, including other agencies, industry representatives and investors, to roll out a series of online and on-the- ground programmes to build responsible, informed and confident retail investors.
Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports, after launching the InvestSmartTM programme at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus, said, “It is important for the younger generation to have a head start in investing for greater financial security. Therefore, I’m very pleased that SC is highlighting the need for our future generation to be more investment savvy.”
“We all understand that the youth segment is more comfortable with bite-sized information available on-the-go. The SC’s strategic approach of using digital and social media to reach out to young potential investors is an exciting development and a step in the right direction,” he added.
