SC’s InvestSmart® ‘ScamBuster Run’ to Raise Awareness of Investment Scams

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is once again calling for the public to join its annual ‘ScamBuster Run’ on 14 October 2018 held in conjunction with its InvestSmart® Fest 2018.
The charity run, with a hashtag #RunFromScams, returns for the second year to raise public awareness about scams and illegal investment schemes. All proceeds from the fun run will be channelled to a charitable cause. The 6km fun run, expected to draw participation of 3,000 runners, will flag off at 7am around the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
Registration for the ScamBuster Run is now open to all adults at RM50 and children between the ages of 7 to 12 years at RM25 through Ticket2u, RaceXAsia and Howei.
InvestSmart® Fest, scheduled on 12-14 October 2018 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will bring together capital market institutions including associations, industry players and relevant government agencies under one roof. Launched in 2014, InvestSmart® is a comprehensive investment literacy outreach campaign under the SC’s investor empowerment initiative to promote confident and informed retail investor participation in the capital market.
