Vietnam State Securities Commission on 4-day visit

The Securities Commission (SC) is playing host to a four person delegation from the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. The delegation of top ranking officials headed by its Chairman Dr Le Van Chau arrived here on June 9.

The other officials in the delegation are State Securities Commission of Vietnam directors Madam Nguyen Thi Thanh and Mr Tran Dac Sinh, and external relations expert Mr Vu Tien Dzung.

The delegation hoped to better understand the Malaysian capital market and foster a closer relationship between Malaysia and Vietnam.

The delegation will visit market institutions, intermediaries, regulators as well as government agencies such as the Ministry of Finance, the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister's Department, Bank Negara, and Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

They will also meet the Association of Merchant Bankers, the Malaysian Association of Asset Managers and the Federation of Malaysian Unit Trusts Managers.

SC Commission Member, Raja Datuk Arshad Raja Tun Uda received the delegation at the SC office this morning, followed by a working lunch. The delegation visited the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in the afternoon and was briefed by KLSE President Dato' Mohd Salleh Majid.
